The First Lady has said that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is planning to send her to prison as President Goodluck Jonathan and Gen. Muhammadu Buhari sign another peace accord while the PDP claims that the INEC card readers were produced by a “fanatic” Buhari supporter . . .

Buhari planning to send me to prison – Patience Jonathan

The Nigerian First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, says the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd.) will send her to jail if he is elected.

Mrs. Jonathan said this amongst other things at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday.

The First Lady who was campaigning for her husband, President Goodluck Jonathan, who is also the presidential candidate of the PDP said at the Ibadan rally:

Patience Jonathan . Nigerian First Lady“I want to warn you not to listen to the All Progressives Congress. The APC does not have materials to match what the PDP has on (the) ground. Their candidate was there in governance initially. What did he do? They only sent your fathers to prison.

They are planning to even send me to prison. Holy Ghost fire! Holy Ghost fire! Holy Ghost fire! They have nothing to offer. They only say ‘I will’, ‘I will’.

A train is moving and it has now got to Oyo State. When we talk about train, some of you may have not seen a train before now. The last time a train moved in this country was when I was small and in primary school.

When my children were small, they asked me what a train was. I had to take them to London and we entered a train from London to Paris. But the PDP government has brought this back to Nigeria. If you want to see train working today, you don’t need to travel again”

The peace accord signing ceremony was held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. The presidential candidates were accompanied to the venue by the national chairmen of their parties: Alhaji Adamu Muazu (PDP) and Chief John Oyegun (APC).

The peace accord, initiated by the National Peace Committee, was signed Thursday by President Goodluck Jonathan, the candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a Christian from the mainly Christian south of Nigeria and his main challenger, Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd.) of the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) a Muslim from the predominantly Muslim north of Nigeria.

The peace agreement contained an undertaking by the parties to avoid actions that could promote violence during and after the polls in Nigeria. This recent accord is exactly the same and a continuation of the one signed in Abuja on January 14, 2015 by both parties tagged The 2015 Election Sensitization Workshop On Non Violence Election.

The National Peace Committee is led by a former Military Head of State, Abdusalami Abubakar, under whose supervision Thurday’s pact was signed.

The two men shook hands and embraced after delivering remarks renouncing violence.

Note: Political campaigns in Nigeria will according to the electoral law end by 12:00 midnight on Thursday, March 26, 2015.

INEC card readers produced by Buhari supporter – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party presidential campaign organisation (PDPCO) has stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) awarded a major contract for the production of the card reader machines to be used for the national elections to a Gen. Muhammadu Buhari supporter. The PDPCO characterized the alleged APC contractor-supporter of the opposition APC presidential candidate as a “fanatic” supporter of Buhari.

This allegation was made by the Director of the PDP presidential campaign organization, Femi Fani-Kayode, at a press conference Wednesday in Abuja.

Fani-kayode said:

Femi Fani-Kayode 2.“He is a major shareholder and board member of the company that supplied the card reader system and machines to INEC is not only a friend of but also an ardent and keen supporter of General Muhammadu Buhari and the APC.

That man’s name is Sani Musa and he is indeed the main force behind the company. The company’s name is Act Technologies Ltd. and the Chairman of the company is one Engineer SK Danladi.

This constitutes a very serious breach of security and it is a criminal offence. It is also very dangerous.

Worst still, it can easily be carried out successfully because, if done quietly and properly and without any deep scrutiny, it is virtually fool-proof.

The opposition party that is so hungry and desperate for power that they are ready to pay large sums of money to their friends and associates to help them get it by hook or by crook.

This is the biggest and most brazen attempt to rig elections in the history of our country will take place on Saturday if the necessary measures are not taken to prevent it.

If the conspiracy is not exposed, if the Nigerian people do not rise up and demand answers, if the plan is not intercepted and aborted, if the Chairman of INEC does not answer the relevant questions and take the necessary steps and if the relevant individuals, including Sani Musa and his collaborators and co-conspirators in INEC and the opposition, are not called to order, arrested, interrogated and prosecuted, their plan may well succeed.

This is unacceptable and it is incumbent upon us, as a responsible, accountable and sensible campaign organisation to expose the rot, point out the dangers of doing nothing about it, finger and identify those that are involved and call on the authorities to do something about it before it is too late.

We believe that we have the backing and full support of the Nigerian people and we believe that we shall not only win but that we shall win convincingly”

– Femi Fani-Kayode, Director PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation

At the same Abuja press conference, Fani-Kayode, also read a text of what he claims to be a posting by the alleged INEC contractor, Sani Musa, on his personal Facebook page:

facebook1“I stand with him (Buhari) for whatever reason and Imagine the kind of people given spaces in our nation’s news tabloids.  Hoodlums are having field day in Nigeria since the inception of GEJ’s administration.  Mad men, hooligans and vultures have taken over decency of the society.  May Allah save us from the torments of this rascals and expose their intentions on our nation state be it the Boko Haram, killer militants or by extension those in authority with wicked intentions – Amen”
